Dr. Miller is a specialist endocrine surgeon. Originally from the United States, she became a fully qualified surgeon in New York City before moving to Australia in 2001.

She is a consultant surgeon at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Epworth Freemason's, and Melbourne Private Hospital, and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery of the University of Melbourne. She is Head of the Thyroid and Endocrine Tumour Group at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, and directs the Thyroid Cancer Multidisciplinary Care Conference.

She has expertise in minimally invasive parathyroid surgery, as well as thyroid cancer, and adrenal surgery. She performs thyroid ultrasound and, when necessary, biopsy, in her rooms. She sees private patients at the Women's Hospital, and men are welcome there too.
