The aim of the continence program is to enhance the independence and quality of life of children and adults who have a disability and continence issues.

Continence Support Services works with Continence Nurses employed through the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), Peninsula Health and Monash Children’s Services.

The program provides:

  • comprehensive continence assessment
  • individualised management plans
  • ongoing access to a continence nurse for support and advice
  • funding to meet the costs of disposable continence aids
  • product advice and samples
  • referrals to other funding organisations where appropriate
  • ongoing education for children, families, carers and schools
